How to Choose a Listing Agent

When selling your home, hiring the right listing agent is crucial. Here are some tips to help you hire the best REALTOR® for your needs.

  • Choose a REALTOR® you can easily communicate with… one who is familiar with your neighborhood… and one who has a marketing plan that will maximize exposure for your home.
  • Ask the REALTOR® for recent clients that you can call for a reference – and ask your friends and neighbors who they would recommend.
  • Ask lots of questions. Keep in mind… this is essentially an employment interview for the REALTOR® so be sure to ask what their qualifications are. How long have they been selling homes? How many homes have they listed or sold recently?
  • Ask the REALTOR® for a detailed analysis of properties currently for sale in your area – and properties that have recently sold or been taken off the market. This information will help you establish a realistic asking price.

Remember, you’re hiring a REALTOR® for their knowledge and expertise, so choose your agent thoughtfully.
