- Never place a crib or bed near a window.
- Make sure your crib meets current safety standards and set the crib mattress at a safe height.
- Install a safety gate at the top and bottom of stairways.
- Secure high book cases and other high items to the wall.
- Childproof all electrical outlets.
- Make sure your TV set is secure and won’t tip over.
- Keep cleaning supplies, medications and cosmetics in high cabinets.
- Never leave standing water in a sink or tub.
